Core Strategy Public Consultation: Alternative Strategies stage

Consultation open between Monday 8th February and Midnight on Monday 22nd March 2010

Welcome to our Alternative Strategies consultation . The Core Strategy will ultimately set the framework for growth and development in Stroud District up to 2026. This consultation looks at a variety of alternatives for how our district should best accommodate around 2000 new homes and 4000 new jobs over this period. We would like your views, to help develop a "preferred strategy" to take forward into the final Core Strategy. There will be further rounds of consultation in the future as this strategy is refined  and developed, before being adopted in 2011.

Core Strategy Consultation: Alternative Strategies for shaping the future of Stroud District

It contains a set of seven alternative strategies, plus a series of 14 policy proposals. You will be able to answer questions about the various strategies and proposals and submit comments online through this consultation portal.

You will also find a series of supporting documents, which provide background information and evidence to support the alternative strategies. These are available to read and download in PDF format (click on the tab below to see a list of supporting documents). You can also download a PDF copy of the main consultation document, if you find that easier to read than the online version. There are also paper copies on deposit at various locations throughout the District (visit www.stroud.gov.uk/core to find out where).

How to make comments

In order to make comments and answer questions online, you will have to login to your user account.

• If you have previously responded to a Core Strategy consultation, have received an email or postal notification from the Planning Strategy Team or have registered your interest with us, an account will probably already have been created for you. If you do not know your account details, username or password, please contact the planning strategy team who can supply these to you (01453 754143).
• If you do not already have an account, please register here before attempting to answer any questions online (click on the key-shaped icon at the top of this page to login or register).

You can also download a paper form to fill in (see supporting documents below) - but if you can use this consultation portal to submit your answers it will greatly ease the speed and efficiency of processing, acknowledging and analysing the comments we receive. Thank you.
